If you got a little nostalgic watching last night’s 2010 American Music Awards, you may be in luck. Two of the 1980’s and 90’s biggest boy bands- The New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys- may be coming soon to a concert venue near you.
The NKOTB /BSB performance at the AMAs reminded their old school fans about the good ol’ days (you know, before mortgage payments and schlepping the kids to soccer practice). Now the two boy bands are joining forces to hit 5 concert venues in 2011. While more dates may be added, according to MTV, these dates are it for now:
TORONTO – THURSDAY, JUNE 9TH AT AIR CANADA CENTRE
NEW YORK – SATURDAY, JUNE 11TH AT NASSAU COLISEUM
NEW JERSEY– SUNDAY, JUNE 12TH AT IZOD CENTER
CHICAGO – FRIDAY, JUNE 17TH AT UNITED CENTER
LOS ANGELES -FRIDAY, JULY 1ST AT STAPLES CENTER
If you think Bieber fever is big, you ain’t seen nothing til you’ve seen a soccer mom trying to recapture her youth. Expect these shows to sell out- quickly.
Fans got a taste of what to expect when the 1980’s and the 1990’s boy bands collided as “NKOTBSB” last night. New Kids on The Block alums Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, Jonathan Knight and Joey McIntyre performed with Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough in a highly anticipated performance on the 2010 “American Music Awards”.
The two bands sang a medley of songs that included The Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody”, “I Want It That Way,” and “Larger Than Life,” along with NKOTB hits “Step By Step,” and “You Got It (The Right Stuff.)”
