Mountain View is full of beautiful parks and places for dog lovers to visit. Off-leash dogs are not as welcome, however. Three parks that allow off leash training are now under tighter restrictions from the city.
In the recent months Mountain View implemented a mandatory training permit for anyone wishing to train their dog off leash in Cuesta, Rengstorff or Whisman Parks. The training permits are “$10 for Mountain View Residents; $13 for Non-Residents,” according to the City.
In order to qualify for a permit, you must have a dog license and proof of vaccinations at the time of application.
Permits are available through:
Palo Alto Animal Services office
3281 E. Bayshore Road in Palo Alto
This permit must be on you at all times while using the parks. “If the permit is in the car or anywhere other than on your person, you may be cited,” according to the City.
