Ready for some rehab in primetime? Apparently CNN’s sister network HLN is.
On Monday, the network announced a new show to be hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky. Pinsky, a certified medical doctor, is best known from VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” “Sober House” and “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew.”
According to HLN, the show will discuss topics ranging from addiction and relationships, as well as the news of the day and hopes to address family issues as well. A live audience is planned for the show.
“I am thrilled to join HLN and I have no doubt that the natural fit I feel at the network will provide the opportunity to explore the stories behind the story and really explain the choices that people make,” Pinsky said.
Currently, HLN’s (formerly CNN Headline News) primetime lineup includes Nancy Grace and Joy Behar. It has proved to be a ratings winner for the network, beating CNN most weeknights in viewers.
Pinsky’s talk show is scheduled to launch next spring. It will air at 10pm ET, replacing a repeat of Nancy Grace’s 8pm ET broadcast.
