For years now if a person wasn’t familiar with getting around the Downtown section of Brooklyn they would either have to ask someone who was or get completely lost during their visiting and shopping experience. Those days will soon be over thanks to the new tourist and directional signs and kiosks which will be placed throughout the neighborhood beginning immediately.
In all there will be 33 tourist signs and 45 kiosks which will provide maps and other help information for visitors to the Downtown Brooklyn area. The excutive director of the MetroTech Business Improvement District is in charge of overseeing this $1.4million project which is bound to be a great thing for not only tourists to the nieghborhood but its residents as well.
All 78 kiosks and signs should be installed by the beginning of spring 2011 which will be perfect in time for the warmer months when more people are out and about.
