Residents of the San Francisco Mission district know that authentic, Latin cuisine is always around the corner. Everywhere you go, there is a taqueria or speciality store which serves the freshest of Mexican or Central American food. But what if you want your food fix from further south? Fortunately, the Mission has just opened a new Venezuelan restaurant, Pica Pica Maize Kitchen, on Valencia Street!
But wait, dear Mission resident, that is not all! On Friday, Oct. 6, Pica Pica Maize Kitchen is handing out free arepas with every beer or sangria purchase. What’s an arepa, you ask? An arepa is a typical Venezuelan street food comprised of a meat- or vegetable-filled bread pocket. They’re delicious and easy to handle!
Why not head down to Valencia Street next Friday and score some free food? After all, it won’t cost you anything and it may turn out to be your new favorite restaurant!
