1991 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has been released from house arrest on November 13th by the oppressive Myanmar Government of the nation formerly known as Burma. Suu Kyi is the leading champion of democratic reform in her country. She was released from house arrest days after the Myanmar government staged rigged elections controlling both houses of parliament allowing her no access too immediately influence political outcomes in her country. She is the Nelson Mandela and Toussaint L’ouverture of her nation. 5000 Supporters waited for the barbed wire to come down to greet their leader and hope for the country’s democratic future.
