As Week Two of the NFL closes in on September 19, tough decisions on which quarterbacks to sit the bench must weighed carefully by fantasy football owners. With concussions to worry about and phantom ankle injuries being being reported by others, it is tough to make a decision that any fantasy football owner will feel comfortable.
Will Matt Schaub go back to his old self when the Houston Texans travel to Washington DC? Yes. Are Mark Sanchez and Matt Cassel really that bad? Sit both of these quarterbacks. They are not listed because it is such an obvious decision. If one of the quarterbacks listed in the top five below are a number one quarterback pick for a fantasy football owner don’t be afraid to sit him this week.
Vince Young Tennessee Titans #1 Quarterback to Sit in Fantasy Football NFL Week Two
Vince Young had a decent game against a solid Oakland Raiders defense. Now Young will face the Pittsburgh Steelers and he will be in it up to his eyeballs with pressure and blitz packages from the aggressive Steelers defense. Young may make up for his lack of passing with some runs but he better be careful with the hard hitting Steelers defense. Sit Vince Young for the second week of fantasy football.
Carson Palmer Cincinnati Bengals #2 Quarterback to Sit in Fantasy Football NFL Week Two
Playing the New England Patriots Carson Palmer scored plenty of garbage points. This won’t happen in this game against the hard hitting Baltimore Ravens. There is a chance that Palmer could hit a couple of bombs in this game against a weak Baltimore secondary but don’t count on it. Palmer will also have trouble getting his new slant receiver, Jordon Shipley some catches across the middle. How many hits can a receiver take from Ray Lewis over the middle? Sit Carson Palmer for the second week of fantasy football.
Chad Henne Miami Dolphins #3 Quarterback to Sit in Fantasy Football NFL Week Two
One of the best defenses in the NFL is the Minnesota Vikings. Henne only managed 15 points against the Buffalo Bills and the Vikings held the high powered offense of the New Orleans Saints to 14 points. This does not bode well for fantasy football owners in 2 man leagues that may be forced to start Henne. Sit Chad Henne in the second week of fantasy football.
Derek Anderson Arizona Cardinals #4 Quarterback to Sit in Fantasy Football NFL Week Two
Derek Anderson actually had the eighth best fantasy football day of any NFL quarterback. 297 yards and one touchdown is nothing special but this week the real Anderson will be appearing in the Georgia Dome. The Atlanta Falcons defense is underrated this year but they will be aggressive at home and fired up, looking for their first win. Sit Derek Anderson in the second week of fantasy football.
Donovan McNabb Washington Redskins #5 Quarterback to Sit in Fantasy Football NFL Week Two
A bad first week in fantasy football for a quarterback will usually translate into a good second week. Donovan McNabb will be the exception to the rule in this game. McNabb goes against another underrated defense in the Houston Texans and they are steaming that they gave up 422 yards passing to Peyton Manning. Sit Donovan McNabb in the second week of fantasy football.
