I think after week 4 we all learned one thing; there is not one football team this year that is truly outstanding. Every team can be beaten. And any team can win
Would you have imagined that the Kansas City Chiefs would be the only undefeated team in football? Maybe, if you lived in Kansas City. I can’t imagine anyone else believing it.
Who looked good in week 4?
The New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
Two to three weeks ago, all four were average.
Who looked bad in week 4?
The Pittsburgh Steelers, the Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins.
Wasn’t it just last week, we bragged about those teams?
This year, so far, seems to be special. Not one team has stood out by a large margin.
Last year the Indianapolis Colts appeared to be the best team in the NFL throughout the year. Until, that is, the New Orleans Saints beat them in the Superbowl.
This year, no team has that honor.
So just who looks to be in the mix for the Superbowl at this point?
I’m going with either Pittsburgh, San Diego and Houston in the AFC. Yeah, I don’t know which team to take. All three have good and bad points.
In the NFC, I guess I’ll go with Green Bay. But, any NFC team can make it.
Earlier I picked the Saints. But, they are playing very bad. They seem to be missing the enthusiasm and chemistry they had last year.
The NFC is a crap shoot. All are about the same – average.
Next week a few games may give us more input. The 2-2 New York Giants and 3-1 Houston Texans looks interesting. The 2-2 Tennessee Titans and 1-2 Dallas Cowboys may be intriguing. And how about those undefeated Chiefs taking on the 2-2 Colts?
Monday night features the 1-2 Minnesota Vikings against the 2-1 New York Jets. Many people predicted these two in the Superbowl.
All of this could be good and maybe by next week we’ll have a better handle on which teams really are good. But, I’m not holding my breath.
