The NFL power rankings Week 6 are a little more clear cut. At the least, the NFL power rankings Week 6 don’t have the Saints and Packers on top after unimpressive wins, and the Chiefs can finally drop down as well. In addition, any remaining doubt about leaving the Vikings and Cowboys off the top 10 or 15 is gone, as they looked more lost than ever. There is still a lot of doubt on who should be on top, especially in the NFC. Yet the power rankings likely have AFC teams ruling the roost right now.
The Saints, Packers, Cowboys and Vikings continued to struggle, suffering bad losses that further devalued them. The problems of the Saints and Packers can no longer be ignored, as they are both 3-2 and could have been worse. But the Cowboys and Vikings are now both 1-3, and set to face each other for their very survival.
But the NFL power rankings look very promising for AFC teams. The Ravens made their case for the top spot after beating the Steelers, and backed it up by thumping the Broncos. Their biggest statement yet can come against the Patriots this Sunday, as the winner might very well become the AFC favorite.
In addition to the Ravens and Patriots, the Jets are also threatening to be No. 1, after their fourth straight win last night. Despite having such an ugly opener, the Jets self imposed Super Bowl hype may well pay off, especially in this parity stricken season.
The Ravens, Jets, Steelers and Patriots look to lead Week 6, with the Colts climbing back up after beating the Chiefs. However, not all AFC favorites have been safe, as the Chargers took another hit with their loss to the Raiders. But it is always around this time that the Chargers finally come back to life.
Meanwhile, the NFC remains in flux, especially with the Saints and Packers’ struggles. The Falcons and Bears are now the conference leaders, with the Buccaneers as the only other one loss team. After looking terrible two weeks ago, the Redskins and Giants are starting to surge, while the Cardinals are hanging around once again.
The power rankings have no undisputed top team, and it may stay that way throughout the season. However, there may be an undisputed best conference at this rate, unless some NFC powers get back on track – and unless some NFC surprises prove that they are actually for real.
For now, here is a likely top 12 for the Week 6 NFL power rankings.
1. Ravens: 4-1
2. Steelers: 3-1
3. Jets: 4-1
4. Falcons: 4-1
5. Patriots: 3-1
6. Colts: 3-2
7. Saints: 3-2
8. Packers: 3-2
9. Chiefs: 3-1
10. Giants: 3-2
11. Titans: 3-2
12. Buccaneers: 3-1
