(All spreads are based on Sportsbook.com lines as of 11/15/2010 7:00 EST)
Chicago Bears (+2) @ Miami Dolphins
The 6-3 Chicago bears are 3-1 on the road and traveling into Miami to face the third string quarterback of the Dolphins Tyler Thigpen. The Dolphins are 5-4 but only 1-3 at home. The Bears finally looked like they were clicking against the Vikings last week in a 27-13 win. The Dolphins lost two quarterbacks but did win a solid game over the Titans. Take the Bears against a rusty Thigpen and the Dolphins.
Prediction: Bears 27-17
Denver Broncos (+10) @ San Diego Chargers
The Broncos had a great game, but can they really have another performance like their beat down of the Chiefs? San Diego has only had two games in which they beat their opponent by 10 or more, and while I do see them coming out on top I do not see them covering the spread over the Broncos with a hot Kyle Orton.
Prediction: Chargers 21-20 (Broncos +10)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) @ San Francisco 49ers
The 3-6 49ers are starting to look like an actual football team and they are back in the race in the worst division in football. The 49ers have beaten the Rams, Broncos, and Raiders, but I would argue that the 6-3 Buccaneers are a better team than those who failed to defeat the troubled 49ers. The Bucs have won three of their last four games and are an impressive 4-2 on the road. I like the Buccaneers to continue to perform on the road and take out the 49ers.
Prediction: Buccaneers 17-13
Atlanta Falcons (-3) @ St. Louis Rams
It is nice to see a team like the Rams get a little respect, but they are just not at the level of the Falcons yet, and won’t be for at least another season. The 7-2 Falcons have lost their only two games on the road, but those losses were to the Eagles and Steelers, both elite teams and far better than the Rams. Matt Ryan has lead the Falcons to an average of 30.6 points per game over their last three contests, all of which were wins. The Falcons defense has given them trouble at times, but with Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, Michael Turner, and Matt Ryan, who needs a defense? Play Bradford in your fantasy league, but don’t expect the Rams to keep this within a touchdown when it is all said and done.
Prediction: Falcons 35-21
Dallas Cowboys (-7) vs. Detroit Lions
The Lions have been amazing against the spread this year although they are a sad 2-7, the same record that the biggest disappointment in the NFL (Cowboys) have. The Lions seem to know what the spread is and cover week after week, with that said I think that trend ends this week and the Cowboys cover. The Cowboys have a new passion for life after Wade Phillips was canned and look to be an actual football team. Kitna and Roy Williams will face off against their old Lions and should put up solid numbers. The Cowboys are ready to show the home crowd a real performance, and it will come at the expense of the Lions.
Prediction: Cowboys 35-17
