In a flashback we found out that a couple months before Alex went to The Division Nikita gave her a lesson on trust. It was essentially how to tell your friends from your enemies.
At present day Division, the recruits were going through a training exercise where Alex’s team lost. Recruit Robbie felt confident about the task. But recruit Sara was unconfident, especially since she was “activated” and had to carry out her first mission. Alex informed Nikita about Sara and Nikita thought she would be doing a suicide mission. Sara taped a video manifest for Eco-Front an environmental terrorist group she was set to “join.” Percy told her that she would be ready for the mission. Later on he and Amanda said that they would plant a bomb and that Sara would be “canceled.”
Meanwhile Michael wasn’t convinced that Nikita was dead because her death hadn’t been confirmed. Birkhoff replied that it had been two weeks since the last Nikita spotting.
Sara prepared for the mission at an oil corporation’s HQ. But everyone saw Nikita enter the building and Percy decided to set off the bomb early to kill her. Nikita escaped to find Sara. Nikita threw the suicide bomb vest that Sara was wearing under a Division van and it blew up. She then took Sara to her palatial loft because she didn’t want Sara to have to go through what she did. At the loft Nikita made Sara tape another video manifest but this time she claimed she was hired by the oil company to frame Eco-Front. Nikita then told Sara how she could survive away from The Division but Sara took off to look for her son.
Sara went to the lawyer’s office who sold her son and beat him to find out her son’s whereabouts. Nikita and Michael both tracked Sara to the house where her son now lived. Michael later told Percy that he saw Sara’s body in a car driven away by Nikita. Sara meanwhile saw her son and Nikita took her away to her new life.
Meanwhile at The Division, Robbie was angry that Sara was activated before him. He wanted to know when he would graduate so he went to ask Amanda. Amanda told him he had already graduated but instead of fieldwork he would be a security guard. Robbie got upset so he went on a shooting rampage in The Division HQ and took Alex hostage. Alex tased him to get away. Later she was told that Robbie was canceled. But Robbie was seen later with Amanda who told him that she was impressed with him and he would now take over Owen’s old position as a cleaner.
