The San Francisco Giants had to come from behind twice, but were able to seal a series victory with a two-run seventh inning.
Aubrey Huff tied the game 2-2 in the top of the seventh when Juan Uribe reached on a throwing error by Alex Gonzales. Buster Posey scored on an RBI single by Cody Ross later in the inning to take a 3-2 lead. Pat Burrell was thrown out at home on the play, but it did not matter as the Giants bullpen shut down the Braves to seal the victory.
Giants’ starter Madison Bumgarner allowed two earned runs in six innings while striking out five. Braves’ starter Derek Lowe lost his second game of the series, allowing three runs in six and one-third innings of work.
The San Francisco Giants will open the National League Championship Series on Saturday, October 16 in Philadelphia against the Phillies.
