Election returns show that Michigan’s 13th District will be represented by Republican state Senator John Pappageorge. Clawson, half of Royal Oak precincts (mostly in northern Royal Oak) supported the 79-year old Senator’s return, with 59.14 percent of the vote.
The other half of Royal Oak, some of Berkley and Madison Heights’ districts preferred Democrat Aaron Bailey.
This is his second term as a state Senator. Prior to 2006, he’d served six years as a state representative until term limits ended his ability to represent in 2004.
The state Senate will be working with newly minted Republican Governor Rick Snyder.
