Going barefoot all over the place in the summertime can leave your feet dry and rough and sometimes even cracked. One of the best ways to relieve dry rough cracked feet is by soaking your feet in an oatmeal foot soak. It helps soften and moisten the skin so your feet can be silky smooth.
The ingredients needed to make the oatmeal foot soak is one foot bath filled with hot water, but not so hot you can’t stick your feet in it. You will also need 1 cup of ground rolled oats, ½ cup of baking soda, and ½ a cup of chamomile tea leaves. All these ingredients should be easily found at your local grocery store if you do not already have them on hand in your kitchen.
The way you make the oat foot soak is simply by adding the 1 cup of ground rolled oats, ½ cup of baking soda, and ½ a cup of chamomile tea leaves directly into your footbath filled with hot water. After simply allow the ingredients to melt right into the football for a minute. After you can stick your feet right in the footy bath and allow them to soak in all the goodness of the foot soak so your feet can be soft and pretty again. Try to soak your feet in the foot soak for as long as possible.
Now your feet will become softer after one foot soak, but to get really soft feet you must do the foot soak a couple times a week. If you have really have rough dry feet you may want to use the foot soak every day until your feet begin to soften. It also helps if you apply shea butter to your feet as well after each foot bath to help heal cracked heels and toes as well. You may use a foot cream or foot lotion instead if you do not have shea butter on hand.
