The Omniplex Science Museum is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is right next door to the Oklahoma City Zoo. It is located at 2100 NE 52nd Street. This area also has Remington Park and a few other things to do. The museum is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am -6:00 pm, and on Sunday from 11:00 am -6:00 pm. Plan to come early because you can easily spend all day here having a great time!
The cost is $10.95 per adult and $8.95 per child or senior to enter just the museum. You can pay more if you would like to go into the dome and watch the show. The dome shows a different movie all the time. The last time we were there we saw “Fly Me to the Moon.” It was a very cute movie and a great experience! You can buy popcorn and drinks to take in with you.
There are several different things to see in the museum. The Gadget Trees area is like a large tree house that the kids can climb around on for hours. It also has swings down below for them. It has a 24-foot slide. The family and kid space is perfect for children as well. It has blocks, stuff to do your own face painting, and even a bubble station. There is even a special area in here for nursing mothers.
One of their newest exhibits I have not been able to visit yet. It is called “Who Dun It?” They were putting it all together the last time I was there and it looks great. It reminds of a CSI area. You get to help figure out who committed crimes and learn the skills it takes to solve them.
The museum even has an upstairs area. You will find the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame up here. You will also find an area about space and aviation. They even have a space ship simulator that you can climb into and explore. They take you on a ride that moves the simulator all around and someone talks to you from outside just like you are in space on a trip.
You can also do birthday parties at this location. You bring the cake and they will take care of everything else for you. They have special rooms set up for the cake and presents. All of the kids get to have a fun time at the museum as well.
The “Science Live” show is one you don’t want to miss out on for sure! They will do all kinds of experiments right in front of your eyes. They even let a few volunteers from the audience come up to help them along the way.
This museum is a must see if you are ever in the Oklahoma City area. We have taken our children several times and plan to take them again. They will love every minute of it and be learning along the way.
