Okay so here’s the thing. You are either famous or you’re not. If you’re not then you may just consider yourself lucky. But if you are then you must remember one thing. The media is going to talk, write, and snap pictures of you for all sorts of reasons and you must consider this one of the perks of your fame.
Sure. You didn’t decide to become famous and not consider all the attention you might receive, did you?? I imagine it depends too on how long you’ve been in the spotlight. With all the gadgets out there today it is much harder to hide stuff than it was 20 years ago. People were still naughty (or nice) but instant knowledge of it was not…well, so instant.
I’ve been noodling this fame issue for a bit now because I am getting ready to do something really bold and if I go viral I might become famous. More on that later because my fame/status isn’t really the reason for this article.
That said, I realize what might happen and whether or not I’m prepared for it I do know what might happen; I also know who I am and that nothing anyone else says about me matters.
Now – to the point:
Famous people have it rough. I know, we should all be so lucky, right? But seriously, here are 5 couples who have made some news lately. And why? Do we care? (Please note: answer to that after perusing the list.)
5 Famous Couples and Their Troubles:
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher – Why? It seems Ashton has been caught cheating on Demi again. Again? Huh. Since I don’t know either one of them (at all) I feel its my duty to offer my opinion: Hot chick, hot dude. May-December romance. They seem like a lovely couple-at least that’s what the media tells me. So did he cheat? Why would he cheat? Its Demi MOORE for cryin’ out loud. But whether he did or didn’t is no business of mine. Good luck to them both.
Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva – Why? Apparently Mel Gibson doesn’t have enough troubles at the moment because some girl he (might have) slept with while Oksana was pregnant with his love child (while he was still married??) has released some shocking new audio tapes to further the “Mel is crazy” parade. My opinion: He might be. Its hard to keep up with all his media frenzy and frankly this one is none of my business either.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Why? This one isn’t really about Brangelina so much as about the fabulous photo taken of Angie and two of their brood at London’s Heathrow Airport. Besides Ms. Jolie looking stunning as always, why do I care? Well someone took the picture; the least I can do is have a look. However, I must tell you that over all I am not thrilled with this pairing (Brad and Angie) and dislike the way it all happened in the beginning. I liked (the idea of) Brad and Jen (Jennifer Aniston). But again, not my business. Cute kids though, for sure.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt – Why? Oh geesh, who cares. Really. Really? Okay. Apparently they were caught smooching (caution: picture is…well, them kissing) when they are supposed to be divorcing. My thoughts? These two have made a career out of capturing media attention and they do not seem to be slowing down now. And so what if they are kissing and making up? If their intentions are true then happy day and more power to them. I am a little concerned that its just another media ploy but does it matter what concerns me about Heidi and Spencer? Really?
George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis – Why? Rumors were flying (again) that he and she, him and her, tied the knot. My opinion: George Clooney has been touted as the confirmed bachelor of the century for as long as I can remember. If it keeps his sexiness in the news to announce his nuptials every so often, then so be it. The oddest thing about this were the comments within the article. Apparently George might be gay. Really? Huh. I had never heard that one before. No matter, he’s alright in my book.
Now Why Do We Care?
This part of we (please feel no separation anxiety) does not. Mostly. But then again I am like (many other average(??) Americans) who sometimes chooses to stick my nose in where it doesn’t belong. And hey, if I didn’t, one or more of the above might be a little less famous. And we just couldn’t have that, now could we?
OMG from Yahoo
Please Note: I mean no disrespect to anyone, famous or not. It is purely my opinion that if one is famous, one must accept that others will stare (and lurk, and write, and…). If you, the reader, understands that I am slightly amazed and amused, a tad bit voyeuristic, and shouldn’t waste too much time caring about famous people based upon mega media attention-then you’ve gotten my point-exactly!
