One thing I miss about eating organic is the lack of dining out options. However, Los Angeles has a good selection of organic food. Here are some great organic restaurants in Los Angeles, Ca.
Real Food Daily
Not only is this an organic restaurant, but a vegan restaurant. There are two locations throughout Los Angeles. One is in Santa Monica and the other in West Hollywood. Real Food Daily features monthly specials like the Thanksgiving Teaser. This has a faux turkey breast with all of the fixings. Also, there are dessert and weekly specials. Some of the weekly specials have funny names like Pippi Longstocking and Al Capone’s Hideaway. Dishes include red quinoa, tofu and chickpea polenta. In addition, there are gluten free desserts that look out of this world. Daily menu items include pizza, burritos, and fettucinni alfredo. Most main courses cost around $13.00 to $16.00. Finally, there is online ordering and catering available. One location is at 414 N. La Cienega Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90048. The other location is at 514 Santa Monica Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90401.
O! Burger is a great place to get a “fast food” type burger with organic ingredients. O Burger has hamburgers made from grass fed organic beef and free range turkey burgers. There’s also hot dogs, salads and shakes. Prices run from about six to eight dollars for mostfood items. Shakes are $4.50. There are even vegan shakes. O Burger’s slogan is ‘Where everything is organic,” even the ketchup. Sounds pretty good to me. O Burger is located in West Hollywood at 8593 Santa Monica Blvd. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This Culver City based restaurant, bar and bakery features New American cuisine. Chef and Caterer Akasha is committed to sustainable, organic food. The lunch menu has salads, sandwiches and pizza. There are interesting selections such as the black mission fig pizza. For dinner, there are both big and small plates. An example of small plate is the seared scallops for $15.00. Large plates include things like quinoa and Australian sea bass. Most of these plates cost between $14.00 and $25.00. For dessert, try the brown sugar creme brulee and homemade ice cream. The whole menu is available for catering or to go. Additionally, there is a prefixed menu for parties of twelve or more. Akasha is located at 9543 Culver Blvd.
