Outsourced, premiering Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 9:30/8:30 central time, is a show about a catalog company that sells novelty products. Guess what? The customer service center has been outsourced to India.
Todd, who is a new manager trainee, is going to India to manage the customer service group. Not only does Todd have to deal with living and working in a new country (he’s never been outside the U.S. till now), he has to educate his new customer service staff in how things are done in America. The storyline also has Todd meeting fellow ex-pats (one from America and one from Australia) who also manage call centers for other companies.
This looks like an entertaining comedy with a new twist. Something like The Office goes Bollywood, but instead of selling paper, these yahoos will be selling and taking complaints about foam fingers and whoopee cushions.
