You can make lots of cute Christmas crafts with paper cups and a few other basic craft supplies. Here are two paper cup crafts you can make for Christmas.
Paper Cup Reindeer
This paper cup reindeer can be used as a holiday decoration or it can be a handy treat cup that you use to hold Christmas candy or food items on your holiday dinner table.
To make a paper cup reindeer, you will need a paper cup or a styrofoam cup, craft paints, scraps of tan construction paper or tan felt, black or brown pipe cleaners or chenille sticks, a red pom pom and wiggle eyes.
Paint the cup brown and let the paint dry. Glue the wiggle eyes about half way down the cup. Glue the red pom pom nose below the eyes.
Cut your tan construction paper or tan felt so you have two 3-inch squares. Cut two small slits on either side of the cup where the ears will go. Roll the paper or felt until you have a cone shape and stick it into the slit. Do this for both sides. You can add a piece of tape on the inside of the cup to hold each ear in place.
Bend each chenille stem in half. Form chenille ends into antlers by creating a couple of bends on each one. Glue the antlers on the inside of the cup. Hold the antlers in place for a bit so the glue holds, or use hot glue or tape.
Add some pink on the cheeks and draw some eyebrows using black paint or a black marker. You can see a photo of a finished paper cup reindeer here. If you are using the cup as a treat cup, line the cup with a plastic sandwich bag.
Paper Cup Christmas Bells
Paper cup Christmas bells can be hung in your Christmas tree as ornaments or can be hung on your front door as a holiday decoration. If using as ornaments, you might want to buy the small paper cups. If hanging on the door, you can buy the large party cups.
To make paper cup Christmas bells, you will need paper or plastic cups, jingle bells, ribbon or yarn, and craft paint. If you can find red or green plastic cups, you do not need to paint the cups. If you are using plain or clear cups, paint them as you wish them put them aside to dry.
Decorate your cups with more paint, glitter, stickers, buttons, bows or whatever you want. Then make a small hole in the base of the cup. Cut a stand of yarn, cord or ribbon about 6 inches long and tie one end to the jingle bell. Pass the other end through the hole in the cup. Pull the cord through until the bell is where you want it inside the cup. Then put a drop of glue on the hole of the cup and let it dry. This will keep the cord from slipping through the cup.
Hang your bells as individual ornaments or group them together to create nice holiday decor. You can also hang some bells on the inside of a Christmas wreath.
