Paris Hilton, heiress to the Hilton name, fame, and money by birthright, can’t seem to keep her life on the straight and narrow. She can’t even seem to stay on the straight, no matter how broad the way. Bless her heart, trouble finds her at every turn.
I don’t really believe it happens that way. It’s more like Paris Hilton makes trouble at every turn.
Even having spent a dramatic turn in Lynwood’s Century Adult Detention Center in 2007, Paris can’t seem to put her partying ways behind her.
In June 2007, the world watched with awe as a judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days for violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, according to MSNBC Today. At the time she plead to the judge exclaiming how much she had learned from the incident.
“I’m very sorry and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything. I’m sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all,” she told the judge.
Looks as if recently Hilton has forgotten her promise to pay attention. According to recent reports Hilton was recently arrested in Las Vegas alleged for felony cocaine possession. The reason, reports Yahoo News, is that Paris Hilton wasn’t paying attention. It seems, according to the celebrity that the purse she carried was not her bag.
Instead of commenting that it was not her purse she should have reviewed her Twitter account where she posted a picture or what appears to be the bag in question. I guess, unlike she promised the judge, Paris wasn’t paying attention, not to the purse, what was in it, or what she had to say to the police about it.
The irony of Paris Hilton’s 2007 jailhouse promises goes beyond her declaration to the judge in her probation case. Transcripts of her post jailhouse interview with Larry King indicate that, at that time, Paris Hilton claims to have grown through her experience. That she wanted to help others by sharing her experience.
Now her words sound like useless PR that didn’t work out very well.
During the interview with Larry King, Paris Hilton told King of her brief jail stay that she , “feel[s] like God does make everything happen for a reason. And it gave me, you know, a time-out in life to really find out what’s important and what I want to do, figuring out who I am.”
Unfortunately, what time has shown is that the Paris Hilton who came out of the Lynwood Century Adult Detention Center is much like the one who went in.
The incident in Las Vegas isn’t a one time slip up. Earlier this summer Paris Hilton was stopped twice in France for possible possession of marijuana. No charges were filed in either incident, but it shows us the pattern of Hilton’s behavior, which is consistent with the SUV in which she was riding in Las Vegas having been pulled over in for leaving behind a “trail of marijuana vapor.”
My question is if she really figured out what was important while she was in jail in 2007, did it include continued high flying parties and drug use?
Not according to what Paris Hilton told Larry King. Paris told King back in 2007 that spending time in jail changed her life forever and made her a stronger person.
Hard to believe considering her behavior. Not even her excuses to the police are very strong.
It’s still astounding to read transcripts of interviews and press releases in which Paris Hilton claims she was immature before her incarceration, that she made wrong choices but learned through her experiences and time spent in jail.
I’m trying to figure out what she learned. We have seen enough of her in the media to prove she didn’t learn to stay clean and sober. The fact that she told Larry King that she had never done drugs means she was either lying, or she has added that to her repertoire of bad behavior over the past few years.
Paris Hilton has dodged the bullet of the law on so many occasions, both before her 2007 incarceration and afterward. Speculation is already flying as to how she will get out of the cocaine possession charges.
Regardless, maybe it is time Paris Hilton take time to take another look over her life and see if she can really figure out what it is all about. I’m thinking she may need some help based on the conclusions about life she has drawn so far.
Paris Hilton may be a little older, but she is no more mature than when she ran into trouble in 2007. Where is the work she promised to do with women who had been imprisoned. She said she wanted to start a program to help them get back on her feet.
She also said she was going to use her celebrity to help raise awareness for causes for kids, breast cancer, and multiple sclerosis instead of spending all of her time going out. Has she done that or spent her time living the high life?
Looks like Paris Hilton continues to ride her celebrity on a string of broken promises. Is it finally time that Paris Hilton really learns her lesson?
