Perry Ellis sucks at fragrances, don’t you think? Well, maybe not suck, but it’s hard to like Perry Ellis fragrances. They’re very simple.
I don’t like simple. I like complex! But this one seems simple, even though I couldn’t really pinpoint the notes in it.
The first notes I smelled was purple stuff. Wait…purple stuff or yellow stuff? I think it smelled like old grape candy. You know, the grape Now and Later that’s been in the bottom of your purse for months, and now it’s getting sticky and dirty? That’s what the top notes smell like in Perry Ellis.
The yellow stuff is definitely lemon. It smells like Daisy by Marc Jacobs, which I love. Daisy smells kind of lemony.
Perry Ellis has a kind of smell that smells like candy, but makes your stomach turn. Although the smell is more weird than stank, it’s light and airy and balanced.
I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s too risky. You definitely have to smell it for yourself. But it’s for anyone who likes a light, simple fragrance. It’s not too over the top. I give it 2 out of 5 stars.
It’s $50 for 1.7 oz.
