One of the things you will want to do when creating your site with PHP Nuke is add articles and stories. In this tutorial, I will show you how to add stories and articles to your site using PHP Nuke. Before you can begin adding the stories and articles, you will need to login as admin.
Next, you will need to make your way to the stories and articles page. To do this, open the Modules Administration box. If you are unfamiliar with the module administration in PHP Nuke, you can load it by clicking the Modules box in the Administration panel. That will reload your page and below the Administration panel, you will see the Modules Administration area. Locate the News box in this area and click it. When the page reloads, you will be on the right page.
On this page, you will see a bunch of fields and you will need to fill most of these fields in to create your story or article. Most of the fields are pretty self explanatory, but let’s take a look at the fields you will find on this page.
Title – This would be the title of the article or story you are publishing. Type your title in this field.
Topic – You will need to drop this box down and select the topic you want to put this article or story under.
Associated Topic – If you have other topics that can be associated with this story or article, you can select them in this box. Hold the CTRL key to select more than one topic in this box.
Category – Drop the box down and select the category you want this story or article placed in.
Publish in Home – If you want it published on your home page, tick Yes in this section. If you have selected a category, this option will not work. It will only publish on the home page if no category was selected.
Activate Comments – If you want to allow comments to be posted on this story, tick the Yes field in this section.
Language – Select your preferred language in this section.
Story Text & Extended Text – These two fields are where you will enter your actual story or article.
Publish On – You can change the publish date and time to what you want with these fields.
When you are finished with the above fields, you will need to click the OK button at the bottom of the box. The page will reload and you will see a preview of what you just created. If it is the way you want it, drop the box down beside OK and select the Post option. Then click OK to post it.
