Pillsbury Easy Frost in the decadent chocolate fudge flavor was easy to use for decorating cupcakes for a bake sale. I liked the fact the decorator tip gave the cupcakes that professional swirled frosting look. But, how did the Easy Frost taste?
I am not a fan of canned frosting, but I think sometimes eye appeal is equally important as taste. Although it did not taste homemade, the Pillsbury Easy Frost decadent chocolate fudge did have a nice fudge flavor. It was tasty, smooth and rich. A lot of people actually prefer store-bought frosting just because it’s more familiar to many than homemade.
The Easy Frost no-fuss frosting has that somewhat oily “fake frosting” texture that does not appeal to me, but it was still a hit at the bake sale and it looked fantastic!
Some of my other favorite bake sale ideas include: Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb cake, Duncan Hines triple chocolate brownies and homemade Caramel Apples or Caramel Corn.
Here are some things I learned about Pillsbury Easy Frost decadent chocolate fudge from my review:
No. 1: One serving of Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge is 2 Tablespoons. I found the entire can of frosting was enough to generously frost 18 cupcakes, but if you do the swirl in the middle only, you could probably frost two dozen.
No. 2 Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge nutritional information: It has 140 calories, 6 grams of fat, 19 grams of sugar, no protein and 21 grams of carbs.
No. 3: Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge ingredients: Ingredients include sugar, water, partially hydrogenated soybean oils, corn syrup, coca, artificial flavor and color and other ingredients. It does contain soybean ingredients.
No. 4: Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge storage: Store the frosting at room temperature. I did not refrigerate the cupcakes after making them. Make sure to frost the cake or cupcakes after it has cooled completely or you will have a runny mess on your hands.
No. 5: Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge use: Turn the can upside down and gently press on the nozzle. You may hear a pop. The frosting did not come out too quickly in my experience, which was nice. I was able to control the movement of the frosting to create a nice swirl.
In terms of performance and appearance, I give the Pillsbury Easy Frost Decadent Chocolate Fudge 4.8 out of 5. In terms of taste, it gets 3.8 out of 5 stars.
