An 85-year old man living at Williams Court was mauled by two pit bulls last week. The man was home alone with the pair of family pets when they apparently started to try to bite the wheels of the man’s wheelchair. Instead, they attacked his leg.
The man was found unconscious in the living room with a large wound on his right leg, surrounded by blood. He was taken to William Beaumont Hospital and given stitches before being released.
The animals are under a home quarantine and are current on all shots. The city’s animal control officer has issued tickets to the owner and is investigating the incident.
