S – Scripture
Luke 2:10 “but the angel reassured them (shepherds). “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
O – Observation
Jesus was born and shepherds saw an angel of the Lord which brought fear to their hearts, the angel assured them that he was there to bring good news – Jesus the Son of God was born: v 11-12 “The Savior-yes, the Messiah, the Lord-has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
A – Application
Often times when God shows us a sign, or presents a messenger (by person, Word, teaching, etc) – we immediately think of all the things we have done wrong, or the “wrath of God” – this scripture reminds us that God’s angels can also bring messages of goodness, hope, and promises fulfilled.
P – Prayer
Father help me when I lack faith and do not believe. Forgive me for my sins. Help to me to know and do your will. Let your will be done, use me to accomplish your work. Let my mind be clear to hear and know you. Create in me a clean heart, oh Lord. For you are the potter and I am the clay.
Although sometimes I want God to move faster, He has had to break this clay pot (me) into tiny pieces, only to rebuild and continues to rebuild my character to become the person He needs me to be. At times I’ve felt like dust from being broken and crushed, left as a parched soul, waiting for the rain to come to restore me to dirt so that I could become clay again – and praying the wind would not come and blow me away as particles in the wind. I pray that I always am available to be molded by Jesus Christ, according to His will.
