The repercussions of the assault at a July 10 Ferndale baby shower continue to be felt. According to police, 25-year-old suspect Tremere D. Moss-Thomas showed up at the event uninvited. After seeing his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend — who is also the father of her unborn baby — Moss-Thomas allegedly assaulted the 38-year-old Detroit man. When the baby’s father’s own mother tried to intervene, Moss-Thomas allegedly took a swing at her, too, knocking her down.
As a result of the assaults, the baby’s father suffered from facial cuts and a broken arm; his 59-year-old mother suffered from bumps and cuts. Both were hospitalized due to the incident, which occurred at the Kulick Community Center.
Moss-Thomas was arraigned in September on two counts of aggravated assault requiring medical attention. Thursday’s pre-trial hearing, which was scheduled to take place at Ferndale 43rd District Court, has been postponed until November 4. Moss-Thomas is free on a $500 bond.
