Gotta love Big Ed Schultz, the progressive radio personality and mouth of massive misspeak who fancies himself a radio raconteur. He is not – not by a long shot. He is a purveyor of hyperbolic gibberish.
Schultz is coining some fancy new catch phrase his limited intelligence imagines will ignite Democrats. Schultz isn’t a trend setter, no matter what progressive sycophants think. And that’s another thing. Why are the most vitriolic of all progressives – Schultz, Olbermann and sometimes Chris Matthews so loved for their demeanor in presenting their beliefs, yet whenconservatives use the exact same tool of expression, we are guilty of hate speech? Can one of the big brains riddle me that?
Schultz is putting it to disheartened Democrats that it is up to them to save Obama and the progressive vision – a stilted, myopic and glaucoma laden vision if one ever existed. Schultz admonishes “Now Fox News, the Tea Party and the Republicans, folks they are all one in the same. They are on a mission to make president Obama fail and America fail. Base Democrats are the only people who can stop this crowd -18 days from now the choice couldn’t be any more clear. Either this country will go back to the 1800’s, or lean forward in to the 21st century.”
First, Fox is not the same as Tea Parties or Republicans. Tea Parties support Republican’s electorally, but are a conservative movement and one that Republican’s fear. Mainstream Republicans are far more against Tea Party conservative influence than for it.
Next Schultz claims “They are on a mission to make president Obama fail….” Uh, damn right! Again, since when do Democrats pull for and advocate for Republican policies? If Dems want Republican political success to be non-existent, why is it wrong for Republican’s to want to see Obama and Democrat politics fail? It is not an evil or un-American strategy to hope one’s own political ideology succeeds while the opposing ideology largely fails. And still lefties claim it is Republican’s conservatives and Tea Partier’s that are trying to sow fear. Puleeeze!
Clearly with his admonition “Base Democrats are the only people who can stop this crowd,” Schultz is planting the seeds that anyone not on board with the Obama usurpation is a member of some ugliness. So those against the Obama/progressive/Democrat agenda is a “crowd?” And don’t pretend “crowd” is just an accurate descriptor. It’s a term of denigration in Schultz’s mind and in the way he is using it. He is trying to create the impression of “dangerous mob of extremists” with his implication.
But the most egregious utterance from this idiot is “Either this country will go back to the 1800’s, or lean forward in to the 21st century.” Conservatism is the natural state of this nation. We are and always have been a center-right nation – always! I reject the notion that conservatism is antiquated, quaint and low brow. This nation has led the world in innovation, freedom, individual and economic success – all while being a center-right nation, so how is NOT voting for a Democrat a step backward? To me it’s a step forward on the path the Framer’s cleared for us to follow.
Progressives do not like the Founding period and how it was accomplished. They do not much care for the Constitution as ratified. They want big government and the Framers’ designed us to not be that at all. In fact the Framer’s were adamant that big government is despotic and would be the end of America as constituted.
That Ed Schultz might sway his base is fine with me. The “base” only sets the tone. It is the non-aligned that decide elections. They swept Obama into office and they will sweep his progressive Congressional sycophants from the leadership in two measly little weeks from today. And the real beauty of that concept is that it so riles progressives, so this is a twofer!
Progressives get their asses on their shoulders and I get my nation back. A win-win, no? I ‘m giddy with excited anticipation. Join me in sending the message progressives so desperately are in need of learning. It is not a step back to adhere to the Founding principles…well unless you’re a progressive that is. Gotta laff now!
