By now, if you’ve seen the news ya know at the Rand Paul-Jack Conway debate in Kentucky last night there was an incident. Seems a MoveON.org member, disguised in a blond wig and carrying a sign, was trying to allegedly give some “employee of the month” piece of paper to Rand Paul, who was inside engaging in the debate with his Democrat rival.
The “altercation” eroded into the MoveOn.org woman being wrestled to the ground, her blond wig pulled from her head and then someone stepped on her left shoulder as she lay prostrate. The woman was not injured beyond her claiming she had a headache. Media says her head was stepped on…it was not, but her shoulder was stepped on for sure.
First, such displays are shameful. I will not attempt to justify such behavior as there is no justification for such demonstrations. Instead I want to address the effort of Democrats to infiltrate the opposition.
Now I grasp intel gathering. I get trying to gain a leg up by knowing what an opponent will do, thus one can effectively counter the effort. That is a tried and true political tactic. But what of going and wading into the opposition’s supporters to sow trouble?
Anyone recall the cell phone video from some protest earlier this year where the MoveOn.org guy is instructing his supporters what to do to counter Tea Party supporters? He instructed them to shout down and use their signs to hide Tea Party supporters, and to wade into their midst to sow trouble? So if your ideology can’t win on its merits, do the next best thing and try to start a physical altercation to make the opposition look bad.
This is childish, no? This is base level intelligence being displayed for all to see. It’s a rather public admission that “we can’t beat ya on ideology, but we can do all we can to make ya look like racists, bigots and violent radical right wing extremists.” What the Hell is that? These are the people that are supposed to be the inclusive ones welcoming all points of view as they preach diversity? What’s “diverse” about shutting up one’s opponent? What’s “diverse” about trying to start fights to obfuscate and shift the focus from policy and to alleged poor behavior to win an election?
If progressivism is all the supporters of it claim, wouldn’t the key be to get out their message to as many as possible. If it were the superior ideology, wouldn’t that be self evident? If one’s message is the real deal, isn’t the classic compare and contrast the way to elevate one’s own ideology while demonstrating the opposition’s is the lesser of the two choices?
Or is this what we all know it is? An ideology that is being soundly rejected by voters? One that had it’s shot and has thus far shown it is not as it was sold to a nation? One that has stooped to calling anyone who does not agree “racist, homophobic, nationalistic” and all the rest? How is that inclusive? We all know now that despite progressive’s claims, they only welcome you if you agree with them. That’s more like despotism than inclusiveness. That’s thuggery.
This is demonstrative of what I have been writing folks. We are reaching a boiling point. Non-progressives are tired of this. We are the vast majority in this nation, yet we are attacked and demonized for nothing more than not agreeing with them and forwarding Constitutional and Founding principles. Just know the reality.
Progressives, as Obama laid out in numerous interviews and his books made clear, thinks the Constitution is very flawed. Progressives and less than bright Democrats are the ones that forward the Constitution is a “living document.” IT IS NOT! It was not intended by its authors to be altered EXCEPT by the most difficult of means – AMENDMENTS. As I recently wrote, the Framer’s did it this way to cool passions.
As we can easily see being played out in the national discourse today, passions inflame, and inflammation is what…heat! They knew that passions could crop up so to keep passions in check they made the Amendment process arduous. But if some issue does survive the test of time and the difficult process of Amendment, then it at least, for better or worse, was considered fairly and with the due deference needed to make nation altering decisions.
In 7 days this portion of the fight will be over. The part that comes after will be as difficult too. Just know there are two distinct choices for Americans to make. Do we keep the Constitution and hold it dear as the Founder’s designed, or do we allow the tiny minority (20% self identify as liberals) to dictate to the huge majority?
These are the stakes we are deciding next Tuesday. Don’t let the underhanded tactics of the opposition who are getting their butts handed to them dictate how we respond. Tuesday’s election results will be our answer to them and they will indeed hear that loud and clear.
