In the past few weeks, I have noticed a few websites that have come across my Facebook page. These are websites belonging to paranormal groups stating that they can capture ghosts, get rid of ghosts, and guarantee the same ghost will not return. Really? How does this happen? I have done some looking around and researching these so-called investigators and I am shocked at what I have found.
The first site I looked at is Ghost Buster Gals. They have some very convincing credentials and seem to be nice women. Looking through their website I have found that they first require a consultation fee of $150.00 for roughly 30-45 minutes. Then you have the $250.00 an hour fee to “remove” the ghosts. They also guarantee that the same ghost will not return. Please someone let me know how they do this. Of course only they would know if it were the same ghost. I could see charging for they services as psychics, but not investigators. I have not yet met a psychic who charges quite that much.
The next site I looked at was Ghost Capturers. They have a free evaluation, but for a nominal fee they will come out and remove your apparition and place it in their state-of-the-art storage facility. Is there really a storage facility for spirits? They claim that although they have found a way to capture these ghosts, they have not discovered a way to release them into the beyond. They state that it is dangerous and unproductive to re-release them into our corporeal world.
The last site I have seen is the Louiseville Ghostbusters. I have contacted this group, but have had no luck with them getting back to me. I really hope that this is a hoax. Looking through their website is like looking at the Ghost Busters movie. Please check out this site and their equipment. They have gone so far as to try and use separate classes to show you how their fee scale goes. So it ranges from Class I-VII and the price is from $1,000.00-$50,000.00.
I have been reading a lot of comments on Facebook by others and one guy said it best. “This is an unproven field with unproven results, techniques, and methods.”
I hope that no one actually thinks that this is good business ethics. We in the Paranormal Community do not charge for investigations. We do this because we want to help people. These people should be labeled as scam artists. They are robbing innocent people and preying on their weaknesses and fear. The Paranormal Community has a rough time as it is trying to defend what we do. Then people like this surface and bring the whole community down.
This is a sore subject with a lot of investigators. I know of groups who accept donations and that is fine and dandy as long as they are not shoving it in the face of their clients. This at least gives the client an option to help out if they so choose. Most investigators will tell you that they do this because they love the paranormal and they love to help people. All expenses are paid out by the investigators themselves. Equipment, travel expenses, and all of their advertising costs are out of pocket expenses for them. I am all about making money and earning a living, but this is not the field to do it in.
Have you ever heard of Karma? What goes around comes around and I would not want to be near these people when it comes back around. What would they do if this was being done to someone they loved? They are taking advantage of someone’s parent or grandparent. Just remember that the next time someone is putting money in your hands for a service that should be free.
