After the protests, against well, everything, Jon Stewart knew that something had to be done. On September 7th, Stewart announced that some sort of big announcement was going to occur on the The Daily Show soon. After painfully waiting for less than 10 days, Jon Stewart finally came forward with the big announcement. It’s a rally in Washington, D. C. to restore sanity. You may think that “hey, I don’t protest anything”. Good, this rally is for you. As stated on The Daily Show, do you not believe that President Obama is Muslim? This rally is you. Do you also not believe that 9/11 was an inside job? This rally is also for you. Are you tired of all the political extremism but you’re too busy to say anything because, well, you have a life and a job? This rally is also for you. Where will the Rally to Restore Sanity take place? Well, my friend, it will happen in Washington, D. C. next to the Lincoln Memorial on October 30th, 2010. Why this date? What is its significance? It has none. It was just convenient because The Daily Show crew will be filming in D. C. during that previous week, but the crew wanted Friday off to relax. So, if you’re interested, you should probably book a hotel room now and do all that other stuff. However, what if you’re afraid or want to be afraid?
Then, the March to Keep Fear Alive is for you. Stephen Colbert announced the march as the counter-announcement to the Rally to Restore Sanity by Jon Stewart. So, if you’re tired of reason and optimism and just want the bejesus scared out of you, this rally is for you. So, where is this march to be held? It is at the same time and place as the Rally to Restore Sanity. But, if you’re in this camp, be afraid. You should be very afraid of something or another thing. It’s pretty vague really. So, who will in a fight that no one can win or even really measure? America? Honestly, I don’t know. Probably, Stephen Colbert due to his massive balls, but those are also going to be a target.
