You may not know who Rami Malek is today, but in a few months his face will be everywhere. That is because he is the newest celebrity to join the cast of Breaking Dawn, the last installment of The Twilight Saga. Rami Malek is best known for his work as a young Pharaoh in Night at the Museum. The 29-year old actor also appeared in the Emmy winning HBO miniseries, The Pacific. Some of his Breaking Dawn co-stars will include Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
Rami Malek will be playing the role of Benjamin, an Egyptian vampire who is able to manipulate the elements. The character Benjamin will not be seen until the second part of Breaking Dawn, which will be released on November 16th, 2012. He will be part of the big battle scene that will conclude the entire series.
Rami Malek is the perfect actor to tackle the role of Benjamin. Not only is he of Egyptian decent, but he also closely fits the description of Benjamin. He is described as “an oddly cheerful vampire who looked barely older than a boy” and had “midnight hair and (an) olive-toned pallor”. he has also built credibility in the industry after being cast in Tom hanks new film Larry Crowne.
Rami Malek was the first to break the news of his upcoming role. He told Entertainment Tonight’s guest correspondent Kate Gosselin “It’s going to be super exciting and I’m thrilled”. Filming for both installments of Breaking Dawn will begin in November.
