Every now and then, a story comes along that leaves us scratching our heads in utter bewilderment. Such is the case of 60-year old actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi, 40. They are on the run, so to speak, for their lives and are now in Canada where they hope to get asylum. The question on many minds is whether this couple are true victims or just plain wacky. They claim their sanity is intact and the “star whackers” are real.
According to the Quaid’s, they are the target of what they call “Hollywood star whackers” – a Hollywood-focused mafia they say is stalking them, bugging their phones, and hacking into their computers.
“They follow us, they tail us,” Randy said. “They tag our cell phone, they hack our computer.”
Quaid’s Warn Other Celebrities Are Being Targeted by Star Whackers:
In an interview with Good Morning America Monday, the couple said this mysterious cult of “star whackers” has targeted them for their money. They claim this cult or mafia group is responsible for the deaths of actors David Carradine, Chris Penn, and Heath Ledger. They went on to name celebrities Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears as being in danger.
Randy also expressed concern for his brother, actor Dennis Quaid, who has asked Randy to seek help.
“… I love my brother very much. We’re worried about him. He’s been victimized by the same people,” he said.
In the case of Mel Gibson, the Quaid’s believe Oksana Grigorieva was sent to take his money. When asked about his recorded rant, Evi said, “I think he was drugged. I think he was slipped a Mickey.”
Quaid’s Have a Date With a California Judge Tuesday:
Randy and Evi Quaid fled to Canada where they were arrested and held in a Canadian detention facility. They were released Wednesday. Evi has claimed Canadian citizenship (her father is Canadian by birth); Randy was released on $10,000 bond.
The couple is scheduled to appear in a California courtroom Tuesday to answer charges brought against them when they were found squatting in the guest house on the property previously owned by them. Whether they show up or not is questionable.
The Quaid’s are insistent they are not trying to avoid charges in California. Randy said they are “just trying to find some safety and security in this.”
Mrs. Quaid dominated the interview with ‘GMA’, often talking over her husband who eventually turned to his wife in frustration and said, “Evi will you shut up, please!”
Randy, a native of Texas, and his wife Evi have been married since 1989. Randy Quaid is best-known for his role as Cousin Eddie in the ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ movies and as Russell Casse in the hit 1996 movie ‘Independence Day.’
