I’m intrigued by this – http://blog.koldcast.tv/2010/koldcast-news/10-cyber-conspiracies-that-are-actually-happening/. This plays into so many people’s paranoia that it’s insane. BUT, I do see how people can correlate the two (Internet and real life) together. Take Google Earth for example – not only does it show you where the exact location is and freak people out, but Google has made a program especially for the government as well. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
And the Amazon part where they detect who you are by your cookies and then determine a price? This totally happens. No joke. I was looking for something before, I think it was a camera. I kept going between pages looking for different products, and I noticed that the prices kept changing. Not only on the regular price at the top of the page, but at the bottom where they always provide a package deal option. It was really frustrating because it wasn’t a small amount. It varied by like $20-$40 dollars. I ended up not ordering through Amazon (which I typically love) and bought the camera in an actual store. Take that Amazon, you didn’t get my money that time! Yet you have numerous times since then…
Do you ever think that maybe Google isn’t really this kick-ass company that we all love and it’s really just the government disguising themselves as said kick-ass company. I mean, Google is everywhere. They do everything. They are hugely successful…who gets the credit for that? Maybe once I publish this I will have the government breaking down my front door….
One more thing – the other day I was watching a Bourne movie (Ultimatum for those hard core fans like myself) and he was at a cyber cafe doing some interneting. I was thinking – how is it that we still aren’t tracked when we go to those places? Why has the government not regulated that more? That and pre-paid cell phones. Bourne owns nothing but those. I find it weird that we are still anonymous with these apparatuses in this day and age….or are we????
Have a great Tuesday!
