Anytime any weather forecasters start talking about intense weather, New Yorkers tend to take it all with a grain of salt. So what, there’s weather? Still, the calls for a nor’easter have some residents of Brooklyn planning their cover, especially after news broke of “penny sized hail,” according to reports from the Long Island Press (1).
There was some heavy rain and lightening in the area on Monday, October 11 and “quarter sized hail…reported in Long Beach, and penny sized hail…found in Brooklyn Heights,” according to the National Weather Service.
This pending nor’easter which could slam into the east coast and Brooklyn Heights is reported to possibly bring “heavy rain, high winds, and coastal flooding/”
