This red sangria wine recipe is a staple at our family gatherings. It’s easy to make and pleases most. This is good drink choice for housewarming parties, showers, Thanksgiving, or Christmas especially. Red wine sangria can be served in a pitcher or a punch bowl, depending on your set up.
Red Sangria Wine
You will need the following:
– 1 bottle Merlot
– 1 small naval orange
– 1 lemon
– 1/3 cup sugar
– 1/3 cup lemon juice (separate from the lemon)
– 1/3 cup orange juice
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
The better your choice of wine, the better your sangria will turn out, choose carefully.
Slice the orange and lemon in thin round slices. Combine all ingredients, chill and serve.
The red sangria wine looks best in a clear glass pitcher. The fruit slices add to its appearance.
For red sangria wine, you can use any wine of your choice. I prefer Merlot, but you can also use Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, or Pinot Noir.
You may also use any white wine or champagne to make white wine sangria.
