One of the great things about Franklin Playground on Monday mornings is the competitive soccer games. The league play is pretty good, and the players have decked out smartly in uniforms of their sponsors which is always good to see community support. Spanish is spoke everywhere. There are a genuine sense of community, and the players seem to be really enjoying the moment. There are no stands so most of the spectators stand around to chat. It is a great time.
The one thing that is a great surprise is the concessions! I did not expect to come here and watch more than soccer, but there must have been three or four vendors selling treats, soda and even ice cream. The vendors are very calm, half enjoying the play and half overseeing their operation. Entrepreneurship is a great thing.
