As soon as Everyday Minerals released its tote-bag sets, I rushed to get mine, glad to jump at the opportunity to get sample-size eyeshadows that are no longer available on the website. Wildflower was one of the eyeshadows included in the set.
Wildflower came in a cute, small 1g container. It contains quite a bit of eyeshadow, and I don’t think I’ll get through the container for a long time, even though it is only a sample size. The small sifter container comes with a white top, and though the screw-on top is not very high quality, it is still a good design. The inside sifter comes with 5 small holes to allow for the product to come out. The packaging could be improved upon, but otherwise, I think it is decent.
Wildflower is a matte brown shade. It is a rather light, cappuccino-like brown. I think it is very suitable for everyday use. It is very neutral and wearable, but if you are looking for a really deep crease or shadow color, this one probably will not work. First, it is not dark enough to create a dramatic effect. Second, as a matte shadow, it is slightly less pigmented. This eyeshadow does not have nearly the pigmentation I would expect out of an eyeshadow. I think the color is very sweet, and easy to wear, but the pigmentation is really a disappointment. I need to apply several layers before it shows up. Another option I have is to apply a white or light base underneath, which is only more trouble for me, as I use a sheer primer.
Its staying power is just so-so. It does not stay as long as I would hope it to, and it fades away gradually during the day. I suspect that it would take either reapplications or a really heavy-duty primer in order to get it to stick very well.
Another problem I had with this eyeshadow is the fallout. Mineral eyeshadow is notorious for the fallout, and I have had mineral eyeshadows without much fallout, so it definitely is possible. However, this eyeshadow is really not up to par in that aspect. The color is beautiful, light brown, but the quality leaves something to be desired.
