My daughter’s school had another fundraiser recently. Unlike last year, when she had to sell a bunch of overpriced stuff that nobody wanted, this year’s fundraiser was mostly food items.
One of my favorite breakfast foods (at least during the work week) is breakfast pizza (I usually buy it from the gas station on the way to work) so, naturally, when I saw the fundraiser had pizzas for sale, I decided to pick up one (despite the fact it was actually very expensive).
When I finally got my Jimmy Boy Pizza White Breakfast Pizza (eggs n’ sausage variety), I honestly was a bit disappointed with it. When I saw it in the catalog, I thought it was going to be a decent-sized pizza. Instead, it was one of those tiny pizzas that really don’t look like they are big enough for more than one person. Considering I spent more on this than I would have on a much larger version from the gas station, I did feel like I wasted my money a bit.
However, after my wife and I made the pizza this morning, I found it was one of the few fundraiser items we have purchased that was actually worth the money.
First of all, even though this was a relatively small pizza, I was actually very surprised about how filling it was. My wife and I split it and even shared a bit of it with our youngest daughter. However, I was barely able to get through my share of the pizza because there were plenty of eggs and sausage on top of it. In fact, I think there were more toppings on this pizza than on the pizza I normally buy (and I love that pizza).
The quantity of toppings on the pizza also made it very impressive when it came to flavor. I don’t know if I can say it was the best tasting breakfast pizza I have ever had because I think the one I usually eat has a bit more in terms of seasoning on the breakfast sausage. But, I have purchased plenty of other varieties of breakfast pizza that definitely weren’t as good as this one.
Because of the price, I’m not 100 percent sure I would buy this particular pizza from a fundraiser again (though I wouldn’t rule that out completely since I do like helping out my daughter’s school). However, if I were to come across this brand at my local store for a bit less money, I would definitely consider purchasing it.
