Everyday, we see commercials on television urging us to buy a variety of bathroom cleaning products, all promising to not only clean your bathtub, tiles, sink and countertops, but to make this cleaning job easier. Some products claim to “do the scrubbing, so you don’t have to”, while others target specific cleaning problems, such as mold and mildew, and still others instruct you to just spray their product on your tub and tile and just walk away.
Years ago, most of us used powdered cleansers like Ajax and Comet. Both accomplished the job of cleaning the bathroom, although they were abrasive and the powders were unpleasant to inhale. Later, manufacturers introduced liquid versions of those products to the market along with the powdered ones. As time went on, the market was awash with new cleaning products, most in liquid form, like 409, Clorox Bathroom Cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles, and Simple Green. Tilex, and many more too numerous to mention here.
Three years ago, I moved into a nice little house. Although the house is over twenty years old, everything was in good condition except the half bathroom in the second bedroom. I thought all it needed was a good cleaning in the shower stall where soap had dripped down the wall. The Tilex and 409 had no effect on the soap scum. Clorox took care of what appeared to be some hard water spots, but not the soap. I even got out my heavy duty Simple Green, which cleans just about everything. Again, I got few results after several applications.
I saw some commercials for Kaboom Foam-Tastic bathroom cleaner. I thought the product was probably just like all the others I had tried with poor results, so I did not buy it right away. I was tired of trying to clean this old soap scum, so I finally broke down and bought Kaboom Foam-Tastic. Now, there is a difference between the Kaboom spray cleaner in a plastic bottle and the Kaboom Foam-Tastic in a can. I have to admit the commercial for Kaboom Foam-Tastic prompted me to purchase and try it.
The claim: spray the cleaner on your tub and tile. It will spray on in a blue color. Within approximately one minute, the blue will turn white. When it does, wipe the surface with a wet cloth, then rinse surface with water. Kaboom Foam-Tastic has oxi-clean stain fighters that are supposed to clean soap scum and hard water stains. Directions indicate that for tougher areas, leave the product on a little longer before wiping off.
Bottom line: Kaboom Foam-Tastic completely cleaned the soap scum and hard water stains in my shower stall after one application, when other products I had purchased failed to do so. There was no hard scrubbing involved, and the foam is not abrasive. I would recommend this product to everyone. I know I will never purchase another bathroom cleaner.
