My wife did some grocery shopping last Friday and, even though she only went to the store for a couple things, she found several items on sale and just couldn’t pass them up. One of those items was Choco Tacos from the brand Klondike.
Now, I’m not a huge ice cream fan. I will eat it on occasion, mostly in ice cream bar form, but, for the most part, it’s not something I’m going to eat on a regular basis. However, at the time she purchased these, I was actually in the mood for ice cream and, after trying them, I ended up being pretty impressed with them.
I will start out by saying there aren’t a lot in the box; at least not the box we purchased. There were a total of four tacos inside it and, had it been considerably more than the $2.50 she spent on the box, we probably would not have purchased it. But, when I tried my first one, I did become convinced they were worth the money.
First, I love the ice cream cone like taco shell these come in. It’s a bit hard to bite into without causing the taco to break into pieces. But, it does give this treat both a taste and a texture you just don’t get with other frozen products. Even my oldest daughter, who is very picky about stuff like that, loved it.
The other thing I liked about these was the great chocolate flavoring they offered. I have purchased plenty of treats like this that didn’t have chocolate in every bite. This one did. And, it went perfectly with the taco shell I described above.
If I have any complaints about this product (other than the fact there were only four in the box), it would be the size. I’m not sure why, but I was expecting them to be much bigger than they were and was a bit disappointed when I saw them. That being said, I also should mention the treats are actually very filling. I don’t know if one would have satisfied me on its own. But, it does work well as an after dinner dessert that will top you off without making you feel too full.
If you are in the mood for an ice cream treat and have not given this particular product a try, I would recommend buying a box; especially if you can find them for the price we did.
