Though I don’t own any Makeup Forever products, I always hear good things about it, but it’s a little more high end for me. But in any case, I decided I might give some products a try at Sephora. I really need a good concealer that will cover all my dark circles and stay on throughout the day, so I thought that this would be it.
The concealers come in little pens with rotating piece that dispenses concealer from a hole in the top. It comes out on a flimsy rubbery tip. I actually like how the tip feels against the skin, but the problem is that it does not really blend as well as I would hope. It’s a good idea, but not really practical. Overall, the packaging is not too bad, but I do feel like it is more gimmicky than actually practical for use.
Something that happened to me, but might not necessarily happen to you is that I had a really hard time finding my color. I have never ever had such trouble finding a concealer of my color. I think I am simply “in between” colors, especially because they offer a variety of tones (which can be good). But my experience with finding colors was not good.
The concealer felt so thick under my eyes, and I suppose it would stay on a long time if you didn’t apply too thickly (not that I kept it on my face long enough to find out). I feel like if you have wrinkles or fine lines, this could definitely settle into the lines of your face and accentuate them. The thick texture just really bothered me. I hear also that it creases really easily.
However, if I had found my right color, this may have really been a great one to conceal my undereye circles. It didn’t really work for me, and I am not a big fan of this product, but it could definitely work for you. Just be sure to consider your preferences before making your decision to buy this product, because it is a little pricey in my opinion.
