This mascara comes in a small thin box with a mascara inside. The mascara comes in a silver curved tube; the tube is curved inside towards the bottom and curves outwards between the tube and the cap. It has the words “Mary Kay Signature Ultimate Mascara written on the side in gold, followed by the ingredients. I really like the packaging. The container just looks so elegant and nice-looking. It’s not flat like other mascara tubes, so it’s very comfortable to look at, and it’s very nice to hold. Also, the mascara contains 8 g or 0.28 oz of product inside.
The Wand: The mascara tube is pretty long, which can be good or bad, depending on how you like to apply mascara, whether you use a large mirror or a handheld mirror. The wand is tapered at the front, larger in the middle, and tapered at the end, which is a typical shape for mascaras. The only objection I have to the wand is that the bristles are not spaced very well. It seems that they were simply put into a line, and spiraled around the wand area. There is too much space between the bristles. Thus, it is very your eyelashes.
The Formula: The formula feels very watery, so the mascara doesn’t dry very fast at all. If you blink at all, it’ll smear the mascara all over your eyes. In addition, the wand delivers much too much product to your eyelashes. It really is very difficult to work with, and you must have a light hand in order to avoid smearing mascara all over your face hard to get an even coating on.
Overall, I love the packaging of the mascara. It’s so elegant and beautiful. However, neither the wand nor the formula are very good, and it’s kind of hard to deal with. I would not recommend this product.
