We typically buy Special Kitty cat litter and then use a more expensive brand to blend with it to make it more successful in keeping our cat’s deposits more easy to clean out and keep her happy. However, on a budget and out of cat litter, we came across Cat’s Pride scoopable cat litter in our local Family Dollar store, and at $2.00 for a 10 pound bag, we bought 2 bags and hoped for the best.
I’m surprised at how well this litter clumps. The tiny litter pieces in the bag clump very well without causing dust particles to fly everywhere, leaving our cat happily scratching away without sending litter dust flying everywhere. Since the litter is toted to be the “#1 selling flushable cat litter”, we can clean out the box daily and just send the little turds and urine clumps straight into the toilet, making the cleaning process a lot quicker and a helluva lot less messy.
The urine goes straight down to the bottom of the box in the litter, where it clumps tightly and is easy to extract. Feces is coated liberally in the fine litter, making smelling the litter box in the hallway undetectable. Even with using Scoop Away litter with Special Kitty in the past, we have never had such successful odor coverage in any of our litters, and have never been able to just flush our cat’s deposits in the toilet. I’m very happy with this cheap, yet surprisingly effective, litter.
Above all, the cat loves it. Since getting her new litter, she uses her box far more successfully, and it’s been a week since we started using the Cat’s Pride cat litter, and not one accident on our carpet. Since this is an issue we’ve been battling for a few months, having our cat enjoy her litter box again is a real treat.
A surprisingly great product at a very reasonable price, we will be using Cat’s Pride as our main cat litter in the house from here on out. At $2.00 for a ten pound bag, we can’t argue the value, and since it makes the litter box smell like it’s not even being used and we can easily scoop anything in the box straight into the toilet, it’s a real winner in the house. Even the cat thinks so.
