Every couple years or so Lego remodels and brings out an updated version of Boba Fett’s ship from Episode V (and II) out, in 2000, with 166 parts, 2002 with 360 parts (Episode II version) and most recently in 2006 with 537 parts. So here again a few more parts, which in some details and other weapons have flowed, otherwise the current version of the 2006 are quite similar, and you should have those. The things that have changed are: dark red instead of dark brown, Han Solo’s carbonite-Stein, rockets and lasers, transparent cockpit now clear. Boba Fett and Han Solo were redesigned from scratch and Bossk (new) are compared to the old Boba, Dengar, IG-88 and the Bespin Guard.
Pros: great, nice and detailed model, very well designed after the original ship from The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. The model also has some cool features and movable parts including the wings, cockpit, laser and the rocket system, boarding ramp. There is also the captured Han Solo (Harrison Ford) frozen in carbonite.
Cons: At $100 (the price is more reasonable now) for 573 pieces this model is a bit pricey. Is funny that the fat Boba flying back and forth wobbles, but its rather uncool. In addition, we see through the crystal clear glass and the whole dilemma: it is ugly and empty.
All in all this is an excellent model of the bounty hunters spaceship. If you are a Star Wars junkie then this model is a must have, and will look excellent displayed on your shelf. Building the model isn’t too difficult and won’t require too much time. So whether you’re buying this model for yourself or for your child as a gift, I would highly recommend it.
