Most of us suffer from dry lips and have tried many products. Some help temporarily but often make the condition worse. Products range in price from low to high promising positive results. To make matters more confusing, we are warned which specific ingredients to use or not use. After watching “Dr. Oz” on NBC, I found a product that contained ingredients that he recommended and decided to give it a try.
Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer was located in the over the counter medicine area of my local Walgreens, next to popular lip conditioning products. The tube was ivory with a green cap and was purchased for approximately $2.00.
What caught my eye about Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer was that it contains coconut oil which was an ingredient that Dr. Oz recommended on his television show, “Dr. Oz” which airs on NBC. It does not contain sunscreen which was also what Dr. Oz recommended for lip moisturizing (but not protecting from weather).
Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer has a cool, mint-type scent and glides on smoothly. The tube has an adjuster wand on the side that you slide up to dispense additional product. This is actually easy to use as you slide it up and down before and after use.
After using Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer, my lips felt softer and smoother after only a few minutes. I definitely felt a huge difference between this product and the one I normally use. I tested this product during a week where it was windy and cold in my area, which typically adds to my lips being chapped and dry. Although I had to reapply every few hours, my lips stayed soft and conditioned.
I would love to see Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer come in a tinted variation for women because I found that my lipstick did not stay on well when applied after using the product.
I also tested the product on my seven year old daughter who also tends to have dry lips. She really liked the minty scent of Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer and was able to apply the product herself easily. She also indicated that her lips felt softer and more conditioned.
Overall, I would recommend Lypsyl Lip Moisturizer, especially for those needing intense conditioning. Although this product was twice as much in cost as my regular brand, the benefits far outweighed the higher cost.
