While shopping at Honk’s Dollar Store this morning (looking for a new dog leash), I came across Springfield’s “Cranberry Lime fruit juice (27% juice) for a dollar. I thought, what the hell? and bought it. I love cranberry, I like lime, and I thought together it would make a bitter, tart, and tangy drink that I would enjoy (my best friend, who was shopping with me, tried to persuade me NOT to buy it- but a 64 oz bottle for a buck? I HAD to give it a try!).
Is it any good? If you love cranberry juice, it’s freakin’ awesome. I put the bottle in the fridge and let it get cold, and when I took a big old drink I puckered up due to the bitter taste of cranberry, followed by the lime aftertaste. Now, that’s what I’m talkin’ about! It’s been a long time since I’ve had a cranberry juice drink with another fruit involved where cranberry actually took center stage. And the lime complements the cranberry beautifully. I love the strong bitter taste, followed by the tart-sweet of the lime. I should have grabbed two bottles- this one is half gone.
It’s a juice made from concentrate, but it’s actually 27% juice, which is higher than I’ve ever seen in Ocean Spray or other cranberry beverages I buy. The cranberry taste is also very strong, which I love, and I’m surprised it tastes so good, because to be honest, I’ve never even heard of the “Springfield” brand and usually don’t trust food-type items at the dollar store unless I’ve purchased them elsewhere otherwise. I’m insanely glad I ventured out of my comfort zone this go-round, because I ended up with a delightful cranberry drink with a lime splash that goes awesome together and is the perfect beverage for any cranberry juice lover. Try it out! A 64 ounce bottle for a buck is a great deal, and the taste will be sure to delight you!
