As I have said in previous reviews, I’m not a person who really believes taking a daily multi-vitamin supplement is going to really change my overall health. But, I’ve been fighting a cold on and off for the past couple weeks and, simply because I know I haven’t been eating as healthy as I should be (mostly because it is hurting my appetite a bit), I decided to ask my wife to pick me up some vitamins the last time she was at the store.
She bought me One a Day Vitacraves.
I said this in a couple different reviews but I simply cannot take pills. I’m OK if they are extremely small (about the size of a Sudafed). But, if they have any size to them, I have a hard time swallowing them. As a result, when I buy vitamins (or just about anything else for that matter), I’m very limited on what I can buy.
I reminded my wife of this fact before she went shopping and figured she would just find a generic brand with small pill. Instead, she decided to pick up this brand because she figured the gummy, fruit-flavored vitamins would be easier for me to take. She had to spend a bit more money on the vitamins (they cost about $7) but, so far, I do like these.
First of all, as she thought, the candy-like gummy vitamins are definitely easier for me to take than pills. I can chew them up as easily as I can a bag of fruit snacks. They also have a great taste to them; they taste like real fruit rather than something made with artificial flavors. And, unlike pills, they don’t seem to upset my stomach if I don’t get a chance to take them with food.
Another thing I like about this particular brand is the fact the vitamins are only taken once each day. I have seen plenty of similar brands that tell you to take the vitamins 3-4 times per day. I avoid those both because of cost (I would go through the vitamins too fast; meaning I would have to buy them more often) and because it’s hard enough for me to remember to take a vitamin just once each day without having to remember to take it another couple times.
These are a bit more expensive than other brands. But, if you have problems taking pills and want a once-per-day vitamin supplement, I would recommend this brand.
