Rick Fox became the latest casualty on Dancing with the Stars Season 11 week 7. Fox and partner Cheryl received their highest scores of the season on the 200th Anniversary show.
Team Fox-C recreated the Fox Trot danced by Season 5 winner Helio Castroneves to rave reviews from the judges. Judge Len Goodman told the former NBA Star, “When you come out and enjoy yourself we enjoy ourselves”. Bruno said it was their best performance of the season.
Celebrity Judge Helio Castroneves awarded the team a 10 for their recreation of his iconic dance. Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann each awarded team Fox-C a 9, giving the pair a total of 37 out of 40 points.
Rick and Cheryl received another 24 points for their efforts as part of team Kristi
(Yamaguchi) along with Bristol and Mark and Kyle and Lacey. With a total of 61 points this placed Rick and Cheryl in the middle of the leader board alongside of Kurt and Anna.
Kyle and Lacey and Bristol and Mark were on the bottom and were called out as being in jeopardy with Fox. Throughout the show clips were shown of Bristol talking about how hard the competition was and after two months how much she missed Alaska and her son.
This was also the first week team Ballin’ was in jeopardy that Mark wasn’t holding Bristol or caressing her arm and shoulder as the results were announced. Watching Mark’s body language and demeanor as the three teams stood awaiting their fate, it appeared he knew this would be his last night.
Kyle and Lacey were …Kyle and Lacey. Kyle is the youngest of the stars and he is cute and funny and takes nothing, not himself or the competition too seriously. As team Schmurgles awaited their fate next to Rick and Cheryl and Bristol and Mark, Kyle and Lacey smiled and seemed okay with as Kyle said, ” Whatever will be will be”.
At the end of the results show featuring performances from Taylor Swift and Rod Stewart Rick Fox was sent home.
Always the gentleman Rick thanked everyone involved with the show, saying it was harder than the NBA finals, but was also a great experience. Rick continued,” I’ve learned that I can constantly be a beginner and learn new things”.
One thing is certain and that is nothing is certain on Dancing with the Stars.
