Summer sped by quite happily and before we all knew it we were hitting the stores for new backpacks, sneakers and school supplies. One of the most important elements of the back to school shopping tradition in my home is choosing an assortment of snacks to tuck into the lunchboxes the first week of school. While I certainly do my best to steer my children towards fresh fruit and vegetables for snacking, I also recognize the fact that sometimes a snack that provides a little bit of comfort is in order. My daughter and I spotted Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip Snack Packs in our local grocery store and decided to give this product a try. Here is what we discovered about this product.
Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip Snack Packs are individually packaged in a fifteen count box. Eight snack packs contained in the box contain crackers and cheese dip, while the other seven contain bread sticks and cheese dip. I paid three dollars and ninety nine cents for this product, which averages out to about twenty seven cents per snack. I considered this price to be a real bargain after price comparing other potential lunch bag snacks on the shelf. The front of the box definitely looks inviting with it’s bold yellow and red colors and pictures of the crackers and bread sticks and creamy cheese dip.
The nutritional information for both the crackers and cheese dip and the bread sticks and cheese dip is printed on the side of the box and is as follows. One package of Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip contains one hundred calories with fifty calories from Fat. The bread sticks package contains one hundred and ten calories with forty calories from Fat. Both the cracker packages and the bread stick packages come in just about the same in all of the categories with six grams of Total Fat in the crackers and four point five grams in the bread stick packages. Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip contains three hundred and thirty milligrams of Sodium while the bread stick packages contain a slightly higher amount, with three hundred and fifty milligrams. Both the crackers and cheese and the bread sticks and cheese packages offer two percent of Vitamin A, six percent of Calcium and zero amounts of Vitamin C. A full listing of all the ingredients and the complete nutritional information of Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip Snack Packs can be found on the left side of the box.
I sampled both the crackers and the bread sticks packages of Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip Snack Packs and was very pleased with both varieties. The crackers and bread sticks were both crisp and crunchy and paired nicely with the creamy and flavorful cheese dip. Just as a personal preference, I enjoyed the crackers more than the bread sticks, while my daughter had the opposite opinion and more often than not, chose the bread sticks variety to go in her lunchbox. Overall, I would rate Ritz Crackers ‘n Cheese Dip Snack Packs four out of five food stars. I would definitely purchase this product again for school lunch boxes, camping trips and on the go snacks.
