Roger Clemens, baseball’s grand czar of bullshit, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Washington for allegedly lying under oath about his personal use of performance-enhancing drugs (a nice way to denote steroids).
Clemens joins Marion Jones and Barry Bonds as high profile athletes and world class liars, in Congress’ conquest to find the truth concerning human growth hormone and steroid use in the world of sports.
Everyone baseball fan knows that Clemens was one of the best pitchers of all time, with a Hall of Fame resume. Everyone also knows that he is a Hall of Fame asshole, who cheated and lied.
Former trainer, Brian McNamee, contradicted Clemens denial of steroid use during a nationally televised hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in 2008 (as if Congress should have oversight on anything). Even Clemens teammate and close friend Andy Pettitte provided a written statement which indicated that Clemens admitted to him that he use H.G.H during 1999 or 2000. Let’s get right to the point here: Everyone knows that Clemens is an asshole who thinks he is larger than life. But the bigger assholes are the guys who sit up on the Hill, with nothing better to do than grandstand for political purposes about the career of a retired liar. And get this one: Republicans aligned with Clemens, while the Democrats went against him. Either he did it or he didn’t (there is nothing partisan about it).
We ought to have a hearing about a hearing about the assholes in Washington who have nothing to do!
